If you love social media, connecting with the world, and serving as eyes and ears for those seeking information about our world then mass communication is your career path.
That is why getting a degree in mass communication at the American University in the Emirates is the best choice because it ensures you a bright future and provides you with multiple opportunities.
Mass communication students have the opportunity to intern on-site helping them complete their 120-hours as part of their program. Internships are available during the summer for Junior II students to help them gain experience for the real work force. Many even get to travel abroad during their internship to gain first-hand experience.
Catherine Chomiak, a CNN producer, said “A good show is like a good dinner party, everyone should talk about it.” The American University in the Emirates gave eight undergraduates the opportunity to participate in CNN’s Annual Journalism Day. This gives students the chance to observe the real world as well as connect with producers and reporters.
“Pictures have the element of drama and really tap into the emotions of the viewers,” Chomiak said to the student during Annual Journalism Day. Media really gives people access to the world and sends out cultural rules, values, norms, and habits. The media is used to communicate information from a person to a small group of people and then over to a larger group or organization. That is why students at the American University in the Emirates are taught firsthand on how communication works.
The outcome of the program of mass communication at the American University in the Emirates is students should be able to preside quantitative and qualitative research skills and use that research in their careers. Another outcome is students should be able to understand the part that mass media plays in everyday life. Lastly, students should be able to use different techniques and platforms to further their careers.
